Deuteronomy 1:6-7 “The Lord our God said to us at Horeb, “You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance…” NIV

Recently, I was reminded of this Scripture in Deuteronomy. During this time, God’s people had been camping while on their journey to their God given land for too long. I saw this Scripture and it ministered to me that we can also stay at certain places spiritually for too long. However, this is not God’s will for our lives. Currently, we have just entered a new year. During this time, it is a common tradition for people to make “New Year’s resolutions”. These “resolutions” require change; this relates to the Scripture in Deuteronomy that says you must “break camp”.

We all must, from time to time, make “camp breaking changes” as the Lord guides us through His Word (the Bible) and His Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed (changed) into the same image for glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” I want to encourage you to seek the Lord and see if He is calling you to “break camp” with issues that could be holding you back from becoming the person that God is calling you to be. God will be there with you to help you with those changes and give you a supernatural reassurance if he is calling you to do so.
