Psalm 4:3 “But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The Lord will hear when I call to Him.” NKJV

Psalm 4:3 “You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for Himself. The Lord will answer when I call to Him.” NLT

I read this verse recently and it spoke to me. It spoke to me about how the Lord desires to be involved in the lives of His people. Actually, His work starts even before we are born again. The Scriptures teach us that God deals with every person. John 1:9 says, “That was the true Light (Jesus Christ) which gives light to every man coming into the world.” Our response to His drawing us into Himself is vital in what we experience from Him.

I would like you to look at the first two words in Psalm 4:3 “But know”. Lack of knowledge is a great destroyer that keeps God’s people from experiencing every good thing that God wants to do in our lives. The Word (Bible) tells us in Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge”. The Psalmist said “But know”. What are we to know? The answer is that the Lord has and is now set apart the godly for Himself! What an inspiring thought that the God of the universe has set apart His people for Himself. He wants us to know Him in a living relationship and what His plan is for our lives.

In closing, I want to share with you a verse found in Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s own handiwork, His workmanship, recreated in Christ Jesus, born anew that we may do those good works which God predestined planned beforehand for us taking paths which He prepared ahead of time, that we should walk in them. Living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live.” Amplified Bible

God Bless!
