Luke 18:1 “Also Jesus told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward, faint, lose heart, and give up.” Amplified Bible

Last week, we looked at this Scripture in Luke 18:1-8. Jesus reveals the importance of learning to live life by praying. Regardless of where you are in your life, Jesus tells us that we “ought always to pray”. The simple definition of prayer is calling on God to be involved in your everyday life. Sometimes our lives are filled with peace and sometimes our lives are met with trials and challenges to disturb our peace in God. This parable is Jesus instructing us on how to navigate our lives to experience the victory that Jesus bought for us.

Notice, that Jesus used a parable to teach us. A parable is a story that we can relate to in order to experience God’s overcoming power. In this parable, Jesus shows us that when we send our request to God that He is ready to move to change things. Jesus lets us know that in life there is a God side and a human side to the issues of life. When the God side and human side are connected together, great victory is experienced. It’s through the avenue of “always praying” that we can live an overcoming life. When we don’t pray, we are left to our own natural understanding. The Word gives us an open invitation to connect with the Lord in Jeremiah 33:3. God says “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do now know.”

In closing, I want to encourage you to bring your fears and cares to the Lord. He is there to lift you above what you are facing. He is always faithful to help when we call to Him.

God Bless!
