Luke 21:34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.”
These words, concerning the last days, were spoken to us by the Lord Jesus, Himself. He is going to return back to this earth to be the ruler and king with righteous government. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 9:6 “…And the government will be upon His shoulder.” Since man’s fall from his created place, this earth has never seen the glorious government that will be seen when Jesus is King. His great peace will be known all over the world.
This verse in Luke 21:34 gives us insight on how to be ready for His second coming. We should not be in a state of unreadiness or not expecting His return. Jesus gives us revelation of how to be ready for His second coming. First, we need to “take heed to ourselves”. Spiritual inventory is vitality and is important to check. You measure this spiritual inventory by asking ourselves “Am I progressing in my fellowship with the Lord? Does God’s Word still feed my inner man? Do I still allow the Holy Spirit to work His Divine Presence in my life?”
Your spiritual life is the most important aspect of your human life. It not only deals with your natural life now, but it also deals with our future in eternity. Let’s learn to walk daily in the spirit to help us be ready for the Glorious return of Jesus!
