Isaiah 53:1 “Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
Isaiah 53:11 “…By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many…”
Isaiah 53:3 “He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief…”
Last week, we looked at Isaiah 53:1 and 11. We learned, according to God’s Word in Isaiah 53, we must believe God’s report. Also, we learned who is God’s righteous Servant. We are called to believe; and our beliefs must be based on what God says in His Scriptures. The Bible tells us in Romans 1:17 that “The just shall live by faith.” As we said last week, God’s word gives us the answer to who God’s righteous Servant is. Jesus Christ fulfilled Isaiah 53 (read Isaiah 53:4) and was revealed to be God’s righteous Servant in Matthew 8:17.
This week, I would like you to look with me at Isaiah 53:3 at the word “acquainted”. This word is defined as knowing by experience. How can a perfect God understand imperfect people? The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Jesus, God’s righteous Servant (Isaiah 53), bridged the gap between a perfect God and imperfect people. He did this by coming to earth as a man, living a human life, and experiencing our broken existence. He did this so He could have compassion and deliver us from a life without God’s presence and help.
Regardless of what life has thrown at you, Jesus knows what you are going through! He is waiting for you to understand that God is not a million miles away! He has all the power that you desperately need to set you free! Let’s believe God’s report!
God Bless!
