1 Timothy 4:8-9 “…Godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.”
Last week, we shared with you that there are some great benefits in living a Godly life right now that do not need to be put off until eternity. This week, I want to share with you the peace of God that is available to us all right now.
Let’s look in the Bible at Romans 5:1 which states, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” This peace is defined as peace of mind and soul in our life now. This also includes a life of wholeness, quietness, and rest. This peace is the result of the work of Jesus through His death, burial, and resurrection. We don’t have to wait until heaven to experience this wholeness; it’s available right now!
We are all aware that we are living in a troubled and unstable world. The Scripture speaks on this in Luke 21:25-26. It talks about how distress and perplexity, which are problems without natural solutions, would be seen. People would have great fear looking at those things coming upon the earth. Those of us who know the Lord, through the new birth, have available this peace of God that Jesus purchased for us. We don’t have to fear! We can have God’s peace by knowing it’s available and receiving it by simple faith in our great God.
In closing, the Amplified Bible tells us, “Let us grasp the fact that we have peace with God.” We can all live in it right now.
